Engineering
POSITIONS CURRENTLY OPEN
Mechanical Engineer - Fluid Systems (Hands-On | Plant + Field)
Location Requirement
This is a 100% onsite position based in South Holland, IL, and requires candidates who are willing and able to relocate. We welcome candidates from Texas, Louisiana, Ohio, and Pennsylvania.
Design → Build → Install → Commission → Fix → Improve
We are seeking a field-focused engineer with hands on experience working directly with fluid systems in real-world environments… including onsite installation, field commissioning, startup, and troubleshooting.
This is not a design only role. Candidates must have personally worked in the field bringing systems online and resolving performance issues firsthand.  Experience limited to manufacturing engineering, process optimization, automation, or simulation (FEA/CAD) without direct field commissioning of fluid systems will not be considered.
What Makes This Role Different
You won’t just design systems… you’ll own them end-to-end:
- Size it
- Design it
- Build it
- Install it
- Commission it
- Fix it when it breaks
If you have:
- Stood next to a pump that wasn’t performing correctly
- Diagnosed flow or pressure issues onsite
- Commissioned a system and made real-time adjustments
You will fit well in this role.
Must-Have Experience (Read Before Applying)
To be considered, you must have direct, hands-on experience in all of the following:
- Field commissioning and startup of fluid systems (not manufacturing or assembly line environments)
- Onsite installation and troubleshooting of systems involving pumps, piping, and valves
- Diagnosing and resolving real-world system performance issues in the field (flow, pressure, leaks, failures)
- Working directly with mechanical fluid systems in live environments—not just designing or analyzing them
Not a Fit If Your Background Is Primarily:
- Manufacturing engineering, process improvement, or production support
- Automation/robotics or assembly line commissioning
- CAD design, FEA/simulation, or academic project work
- PLC/controls-focused roles without mechanical fluid system ownership
Non-Negotiable
If you have not personally commissioned and started up fluid systems in the field, this role will not be a fit.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Design fluid handling systems (not just on paper)
- Perform flow, pressure, and pump sizing calculations
- Create CAD models and BOMs (SolidWorks)
- Partner with manufacturing to build systems
Then take it into the field:
- Install and commission systems at customer sites
- Troubleshoot performance issues in real time
- Work hands-on with equipment until it runs correctly
You own the outcome, not just the design.
Who This Role Is Built For
You will likely come from roles such as:
- Field Engineer
- Commissioning Engineer
- Startup Engineer
- Applications Engineer (equipment-focused)
- Mechanical Engineer with strong field experience
Who This Is Not For
- Design-only engineers
- FEA or simulation-heavy backgrounds
- Entry-level engineers
- Technicians without engineering-level ownership
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or similar)
- 2–5+ years of hands-on fluid systems experience
- Experience with:
- Pumps, piping, valves
- Commissioning and installation
- Real-world troubleshooting
What We Offer
- $80,000 – $100,000 base
- Medical, dental, vision
- HSA and life insurance
- 401(k) with company match
- Paid time off and holidays
- Referral program
- Stable, family-owned company
